What sparked this song?

Dee's Pastor was preaching about the return of Jesus

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus shall we always be with the Lord." I Thessalonians 4: 13-18

It was a Sunday morning at Liberty Baptist Church and Pastor Bruce Caldwell was preaching about the return of Jesus. He utilized passages from Isaiah, and others, too, however; the passage above captured Dee's attention.

A shout. The Lord will return with a shout. God's Word didn't say WHAT Jesus would shout... that was so interesting. Dee imagined all the things that she thought Jesus would shout. Would He say, "I'm back!" Maybe He would proclaim, "Come home, children!"

When she got home that afternoon, she brought up the subject to Robert. "What do you think He will shout when He returns?" she asked.

Bob said "I think with one shout He will miraculously call everyone's name at once. That will call us from our graves, just like He called Lazarus."

And so, the song was born.

Now when we go and share this song, we have others shout what THEY think Jesus will shout!!

It is an exciting time! And, as another Gospel singer has said in the past, "If that don't light your fire, your wood's wet!"
